I am trying to find my great great grandparents (Paul Kaleth / Kaleta b. 4 Jan 1852 & Joanna / Anna Hummel b. 18 Aug 1865) in Poland. I know that Paul came over to the U.S. in 1871 and Anna came in 1886. Several U.S. Census Records show that they said they were both from German Poland or Danzig Germany (depending on the census year). They spoke Polish and were members of a Polish Catholic Church in Chicago, IL. I also found an old postcard which was of a school and house labeled Eichenberg, on the back was written Anna Kaleth and said it was her house and school shown. I'm trying to put the pieces together to figure out where exactly they came from. The only reference to an Eichenberg I can find seems to be in Germany or Austria. I know, from death certificates, that Paul's parents are Michael Kaleth / Kaleta & Anna Danz and Anna's parents are John Hummel & Marcianna Prince. I do not know any of the parents' birth dates / years. Any help anyone can provide me with would be greatly appreciated!
