The book, "Tales of Old Whitehaven" originally published in 1967 by Anna Leigh McCorkle has been out of print for many years. This 173 page book covers the early history of the Whitehaven community (named in honor of Col. Francis White) which is located in southern Shelby County, TN and is now a part of Memphis. Although it is not a genealogy text, it does contain a lot of information about many of the early families of this area and also many of those in northern Desoto Co.,MS
