I am researching the name Mounce also. My husbands grandfather was Perry "Buck" Mounce from Okla. His father was William Thomas Mounce, son of John P. Mounce, son of Joseph Mounce who married a Nancy Polly Roberts in 1827. His second wife was Elizabeth Francis Moody born abt. 1809 in NC. Is this the same line you were asking about? This is all I know about this family. Many questions need answers.
