My Great Grandmother (Emily Kate Andrews) was killed during the 1917 Halifax Explosion. I was told that Emily, her husband Thomas and their daughter Emily were standing in front of several windows watching the events as they unfolded. Suddenly the ship exploded the force of the blast blew out the windows they were at, embedding glass in each of them. Then seconds later a piece of one of the ships came through the window and hit my Great Grand Mother at such force that it threw her back against a wood burning stove. where she was killed. I live in the USA and have trouble accessing alternate records of that day. If anyone can find records other than a death record for Emily that would be great. Thomas and daughter Emily's injury reports are the priority if they exist.
