Thomas Lankford and Arthur Herring were both in Stratton Major Parish in 1734. Arthur was married at that time. Arthur's grandson was named Lankford Herring. These were the Lunenburg Co., VA Herrings who went to Pittsylvania Co. VA. I believe that Arthur's wife whose name was Elizabeth and married later Richard Stones of Stratton Major, was Elizabeth Lankford. The problem is... whose Elizabeth? Arthur would have been born ca 1710 and his parents were likely Arthur Herring and Anne King of King and Queen Co., VA. Anne was later Anne Hole/Hale/Hail and was the daughter of Robert King of Stafford Co., VA.

Furthermore, Peyton Herring who moved to Pulaski Co., KY had son Jesse Lankford Herring. I believe that Peyton was of this same Herring line. Peyton's birth was ca 1785 VA. I don't know his parentage. Any help on any of this?
