Interested in any information about this murder of Franklin Burgess and subsequent murder of his accused murderer, Lewis Ketchum. According to Myrtle Burgess Justice, Franklin Burgess (1850-1870) and William D Burgess (1848-1870) were both killed in a fight at a circus. Another source says LEWIS KETCHUM killed FRANKLIN BURGESS according to the following:
Lewis T. KETCHUM Born: 15 Jan 1850 Died: 25 Dec 1870 Spouse: Francis Married: 29 Jan 1862. A David Adams of Casa Grande, AZ is supposed to have info from a Soloman Palmer's diary that Lewis murdered Franklin Burgess on 12/23/1870 and a group of disguised men took Lewis from jail and killed him on 12/25/1870. This was in Blount Co., AL. Solomon Palmer was a long time resident of Blountsville.
