I'm trying to find the genealogy of a Mary Honeycutt that married my GGG-grandfather, John Wyatt, born about 1778 in NC. I'm descended from John and his first wife Alley Rains. John married Mary Honeycutt on 30 Jan 1813 in Campbell, Georgia, United States. Until recently I did not know the name of his second wife and thought they had only a few kids. I now believe they had at least thirteen children between 1813 and 1843, not all of which I have names for. After moving from Campbell County Georgia to Tishomingo County Mississippi in time for the 1840 Census, John and Mary ended up in Tennessee by the time of the 1850 Census. That is the last record I have of them, and going by the 1850 Census, Mary would have been born in North Carolina around 1793. I think there is a fair chance that Mary could have been born in Virginia, maybe even a few years earlier. Regardless of where she was born, I am seeking who her parents were and how Mary got down to Georgia. Or was her maiden name something else and she picked up Honeycutt through an earlier marriage?
Any thoughts or information will be greatly appreciated. I've place the tree for John on both Ancestry.com and Rootsweb.com under the name "Wyatt-Rains/Honeycutt Family Tree". On RootsWeb.com, it also can be found as the database georgian1950.
