The Bend Bulletin, Bend Oregon, Mar 10, 1909
In Bend Oregon, on Wednesday, Mar 03, at 10:30 o'clock, Mr Elmer A Cast to Miss Ana Phillips, Rev
J Anthony Mitchell, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, officiation.
Mr Cast is at present, land commissioner of the Deschutes Irrigation and Power Company. Mr and Mrs
Phillips, parents of the bride, residing for a while in Bend, were residents of Alberta, British Columbia,
and soon to leave for Summer Lake, Oregon.
The wedding was entirely private, attended only by two families, Mr Charles Phillips having come from
Spokane to be present. After filling out of the wedding souvenir, the company partook of a most
enjoyable repast prepared by the bride's mother.
The friends in the East may not know that the Bend is on the Deschutes river, one of the most beautiful
in the world, and unusually interesting from the fact that it flows along the Opal Springs, the wonderful
ice caves and extinct volcanoes. It gets it rapid, cold, crystal clear water from the forever melting snows
of the Cascade Mountains. Overlooking Bend are the Three sisters; Mounts Jefferson, Washington and
Hood. Under the protection and the blessing of these beautiful overlooking mountains from March 03,
1909, Bend possesses another beautiful and happy home.
Mr and Mrs Cast will be at home to their friends after the 20th of March.
