Jethro WOOD and his wife Sylvia lived on Poplar Ridge Rd. in the town of Ledyard in the early 1800's. Per an historical marker at his former residence, Jethro Wood is said to be the inventor of the cast iron plough. I am searching for information about this family, and am particularly interested in the maiden name of Jethro's wife, Sylvia. The Woods were neighbors of my ancestors, Tillotson and Hannah EWER. I have been unable to determine the maiden name of Hannah Ewer, and suspect she may be related to Sylvia Wood. Tillotson and Hannah Ewer named their daughter Sylvia.
