My grandfather was teaching at a chilhowee Institute or Academy in 1907 when my mother was born. In a newspaper article it mentions being close to Knoxville. Does anyone know if there was ever a school in this area by that name. His name was Clarence M. Thompson. We would appreciate hearing any news at all.
