My 6 great grandfather was Edward Allen who was married in Macclesfield in 1740 and had his five children christened in St Michael's. When I consult the parish extracts from FamilySearch.org other children come up whose father was also an Edward Allen, but were christened in Handley. Im trying to decide if these children were of the same family and Edward may have lived part of the time in Handley and other times in Macclesfield. In both cases no wifes name is given (it was Martha Swain) and the births of the new children from Handley do not conflict with ANY of the baptisms or births from the Macclesfield Edwards records.
Is Handley close to Macclesfield?
A confused yank.
