Shakespeare Cemetery

Shakespeare Cemetery is now online at http://newmexicoalhn.net/shakespeareTombs.htm
This has 1,300 photos and is one of the oldest and largest cemeteries in Hidalgo Co. (a few miles from the Arizona - NM line.) This is the most complete record available of this cemetery.

It was originally operated by the Mormon Church, then by the Catholic Church and now by the City of Lordsburg which does a fine job maintaining the grounds.
Additional names and / or photos are welcomed. Please send to jcnreno@charter.net.
We are also photographing Mt. View Cemetery in Lordsburg and would like to add Cotton City and Virden Cemeteries. Volunteers are needed and welcomed. All you need to do is take photos of all the stones and send me your camera memory disk. I'll copy them and return the disk to you within 24 hours.

Rodeo Cemetery is also online, near the AZ state line. Animas Cemetery and Middle Animas Road Cemertery have also been placed online with photos. A few miles east in Grant County, the two Hachita Cemeteries have been added with photos. People from both Arizona and NM are buried in theses cemeteries.
