OF JOSEPH GADBOIS.
-PROMINENT CORNWALL MAN
The obituary of Mr. Joseph Gadbois
who died June 14th was publish
ed in the Cornwall, Ontario paper
on Tuesday of last week and is reprinted
here in part. Mr. Gadbois
was the husband of the former Miss
Agnes Dupree of Fort Covington,
and was well and favorably known
here. ^
Joseph Gadbois Passes Monday The Cornwall area lost a splendid citizen in the death of Joseph Gadbois of the Track Road which occurred at Hotel Dieu Hospital. Monday night. Mr. Gadbois was born at Glen Walter, Cornwall, a son of the late Alex Gadbois and his wife, Mary Derochie. He remained on the home farm until his marriage 50 years ago,when he branched out on his own account and became one of the, most up-to-date farmers in the county
of Stormont and was held in the highest esteem by all who had the pleasure of his acquaintance. He took a deep interest in educational matters and for a good many years served as trustee in School Section No. 7, for the past eight years filling the office of secretary of the board with eminent satisfaction.
He is survived by his widow, the former Miss Agnes Dupree of Fort Covington. An only son, Walter Gadbois, well known jeweller, died
here seven years ago. He also leaves three brothers and three sisters: Alex Gadbois and Henry Gadbois, Cornwall; Levi Gadbois,Glen Walter; Mrs. W. J. Gault of Cornwall; Mrs. J. O. Houle and Mrs. Joseph Lafleche, both in Montreal. The funeral will be held Thursday morning from St. Columban's
Church, where a Solemn Mass of Requiem will be sung with Rev. John E. Gault, a nephew, as celebrant; Rev. M. J. O'Brien as deacon; and Rev. John R. Donihee as sub-deacon.
