Mrs. Gladys Pierce Rooks, wife of Velmo Rooks, Newt, died Wed 6 Mar [1946] after a long illness. She would have been 23 years old on 18 Apr. Funeral services were conducted at the family Cem near Newt by the Rev. Raymond Pierce of Park, Ky. Besides her husband, Mrs. Rooks is survived by a dau, Wilma Helen, 6, a son, Calvin, 14 months; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Corby Pierce; 5 brothers; 4 sisters, and her grandparents, Mr. an Mrs. J.L. Vanarsdale.
