Robert Austin of Charleston, SC married MARGARET BERWICK. In the mid 1700s, prior to the Revolution a Robert Austin was named on deeds and some other documents as a J. P. (Justice of the Peace) and Pub. Reg. (Public Registrar?) as he appraised property for sale or as the result of a probated will. I am seeking information on this Robert Austin and his wife MARGARET BERWICK. I know that they lived in Charleston, SC at this time and he must have had some education to be in this position as JP and Pub.
