I think my family came to America from Eastern Europe shortly after the fall of the Czar in Russia. They settled on a farm in Plum Boro, PA. I don't think any are in New York

Hi Jennifer,
I just read your post and wondered if we may
have any mutual family - I can only go back
as far as my great-grandparents, Peter and
Carolina (or Caroline) Kuba, who lived in
Johnstown, PA. Both of them passed away in
the 1960s. They had a number of children,
including Michael (my grandfather), John,
Margaret and Mary.
Does this sound familiar? Please
e-mail me at Kimmy964@hotmail.com either way.
Thank you!
Kim

I am searching for ancestry of my grandmother Julia Ann Kuba; she came here in late 1800's with her brother John Kuba. They settled near Pittsburgh, PA, where John raised a family. Some of his children's names were Agnes, John, Elizabeth. My grandmother later married and moved to Ohio. Originally, they came from Czechoslovakia.

My sister is married to a Kubas here in SC.
His father is from NYC and was Walter Joseph
Kubas. His father was Joseph Kubas who married
(1)Julia Brown (2) Frances Zoller. Joseph was
the son of the immigrant Lawrence Kubas b
4/1866 in Austria and Barbara Zielinski b
12/1860 in Austria per census records. They
first lived in Dickson City, Pa. where Joseph
was born and baptized. Buried Mt Olivet Cem
in Brooklyn, NY.

Thanks for responding. Our name is Kuba.. no s. WE are also from NYC. My family immigrated from Russian Poland about 1888. The name was Kubaba and they were Jewish.
Doesn't sound promising but let me know.

Howdy!
My Granfather,Alphons (spelling incorrect) moved to this country from Austria/Hungry with his wife, Oga. They settled in Santa Rosa, CA and homsteaded property around 1901. Most of the family still lives in the area today.
