Looking for Gjerstads in Minnesota

Classification: Query
Surnames: Gjerstad
My Great Grandfather, Gustav Christianson Gjerstad, was born in Ostre Toten, Hamer, Norway on September 3, 1856. His parents were Christian Pederson Gjerstad and Margrethe Syljulien.

He came to the United States in 1876, attended Red Wing Seminary in Minnesota and was ordained as a Luthern Minister in 1885. He married my great grandmother, Emma Urness, in 1886. He had several pastorships in Minnesota and Iowa. Several of his children were born in Iowa. He eventually settled in Waukon, Norman County, Minnesota and served the Norman Church of Bear Park. He died at home in Waukon on June 29, 1919.

His children's names were, Millard (my grandfather), Evald, Gustav, Alfred, Agnes, Ingvold, Margrethe, Rudolph, Marie and Zigmund.

I would love to have information about any of his siblings that may have also come to the United States as well as the families of his children, who they married etc... I am also looking for information about his wife, Emma Urness, who her parents were etc. I have some birth dates and info on some of the children if anyone is looking.

Are you still looking for Gjerstad's in Minnesota? Maybe you've gotten many responses but, if not, I have quite a bit of information on the same Gjerstad linage. Gustav was my great-grandfather, Ingvar was his son and my father's father. I don't see Ingvar in the list of children so maybe my great-grandfather was Gustav's son, Gustav. My grandfather Ingvar was born in 1899 and died in 1959. I'll check my documents.
