I hope I'll get some info
Is anybody who is familiar with "Plutony Swietego Samarytanina" from Chicago or with Antonina Barc from Chicago. Is anybody who knows about any Zychowski from Cleveland,Ohio who helped my father Zygmunt Franciszek Zychowski during II WW? Thank you Wojtek

Re: I hope I'll get some info
I am related to Zychowskis in Cleveland Ohio. Unfortunately, there are several families...I am not sure all are related.
My grandfather's brother, John Zychowski, left the United States during WW2 to serve with the Polish army. I do not know dates at present, or whether John served in Poland or in one of the refugee divisions in England. It is family lore that he joined the Polish army to serve with a brother that lived in Poland.

Re: I hope I'll get some info
I am not sure what your grandfathers brothers name was, but my grandfather by the name Tytus Zychowski also served in WWII in Poland, and I know he had a brother, but I don't know his name. Tytus Zychowski died just after 1955, from cancer, he married Miss Janina Pietruszka who is my grandmother and resides in Poland.

Re: I hope I'll get some info
Hello Jeff, I don't have any info on your grandfather Zychowski, but was wondering if your father was Jerome Jurinak (son of Joseph and Mary Jurinak) and your mother was Mary Zychowski (all from Cleveland). Please e-mail me direct at the above address if you are.
Best Regards.

Re: I hope I'll get some info
Hello It’s me again. The reason I posted my previous email was: My father Zygmunt Franciszek Zychowski was a war prisoner. He was rescued by British Army from officer camp in May 1945. Then he disappeared for about year and half. He came to Poland at the end of 1946. He never told my mother what he was doing before returning to Poland. He died in 1960. Before he became permanently disabled (not treatable brain tumor) he told my mother that only information about the period after IIWW and before he came to Poland we can get from somebody who was connected to Plutony Swietego Samarytanina or Antonina Barc or Zychowski family from Cleveland. My father also told my mother that he received from them “sort of help” during time when he was captured by Germans but he never told any details except information about few parcels with food he’d received in camp. He also told my mom that he can not release all information because it could be dangerous for her. Sounds like a mystery. My parents had an uncommon marriage ceremony – “per procura”. My father used fluently 6 or 7 languages. One of his brothers Czeslaw lives in England, second –Jozef lives in Poland (village Konczyska, close to small city Zakliczyn former Brzesko county). My grandfather was living in Cleveland, OH and worked for Ford factory. He came to Poland to settle at beginning of XX century and my father was his first son born in Poland. I would appreciate any information. I live in Chicago, IL. My email addresses: voytek@logi9.com, ahlogi@yahoo.com, ahhlogi@yahoo.com, logi9@myrealbox.com this email address is no longer valid Marry Christmas and Happy New Year to everybody
