My Great Grandparents (Anton and Julia Marie (Zvolanek) Zvolanek were born in and they married in Czechosolovakia on Sept. 16, 1905. They immigrant to the U.S. shortly after and lived in Virginia, NE. Later they moved to Lewiston. My great-grandma died on November 10, 1959 and was born February 18, 1885. Anton was born (?) and died on November 5, 1927. I was just wondering if anyone out there happens to know anything about both Anton and Julia's parents. I know Julia's parents are Joseph and Frances Zvolanek but I do not know who Anton's parents are. Also Julia left behind in Czechoslovakia one sister and three brothers. I was wondering if anyone knew who those people are and where they are living now. And does anyone know if Anton has any siblings? I'm researching my family lineage. Thank you
Lesa

My grandfather Jan (John) Zvolanek was born in either the Czech republic (Bohemia?) or in Russia in 1891. Do you have anything that connects with that?
I am looking for his parents + siblings with whom he lost touch in 1917.

Hello Lesa,
I was just helping my sister with info on this family for her gr kids. We found Anton's WWI Draft Registration, Passport app where he returned to marry Julia, Ship records where he came to the US in Nov 1893 on the Waesland with possibly his father Venceslaus age 44 (Anton was 15), ship records for Julia and Anton's return to the USA in 1905 on the Kaiser Wilhelm II, 1910, 1920 and 1930 censuses, cemeteries, and headstone photos. Also found several Zvolanek's who were coming to NEbraska who could be either Anton's or Julia's since you said her maiden name was also Zvolanek.
The WWI Reg & Passport app show Anton's dob to be 1 June 1878. Do you think it possible that Julia's parents immigrated to the US? And, do you know anything about Venceslaus? I have searched the 1900 census for many variations of his name, and have found nothing. The last name gets transcribed to tons of names the most ridiculous being Goolonch. My grandmother came from Krucemburk in 1913. According to her ship record, her uncle, Frank paid for her passage to the US. She went to Cleveland Ohio where she married Fred Novak. Her marriage certificate lists her parents as Jan Zvolanek and Josepha Dolezal. Any chance we are connected? I googled the town of Krucemburk and did a street view recently and found a building with the name of Zvolanek on it and the word for plumber behind it.
