Raymond Zvara, 89, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Friday, May 31, 2013, at Overlook Medical Center.
Born in Lorain, Ohio, Mr. Zvara lived in Scotch Plains for 36 years before moving to Fanwood last year.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps.

He was employed as a communications signal engineer for N.J. Transit before retiring in 1988.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen Zvara, and his three daughters, Patricia Tartivita (Carmelo), Laura Lawlor (Christopher), and Victoria Londino (Rich); six grandchildren, Emma, Victoria, Kate, Isabella, Donovan, and Casey; and his two sisters, Mildred Mecera and Ruth Stanchak.

The funeral will be from Memorial Funeral Home, 155 South Ave., Fanwood, N.J., on Monday, June 3, 2013, at 10 a.m. followed by a Mass at 11 a.m. from Immaculate Heart of Mary R.C. Church, 1571 Martine Ave., Scotch Plains, N.J.
