I don't know anything about the European part of the tree. My Zube settled in Conn. as builders and carpenters and came from West Prussia before 1880. Don't know if they had other family here already. Joan

I was so surprised to find out that there were so many Zubes as even in Germany the name is quite rare. I hope I find some information worthwhile to share. Most records were destroyed during the war so we shall see what is still available. Wish me luck. Tina

My Great Great Grandmother, My mother's father's mother's mother was a ZUBE. Emilie Justine Wilhemine ZUBE. Born: Berent, Danzig (Gdansk), Westprussen on June 16,1847. Her father was Gottlieb Ferdinand Zube and Mother was Justine Raetz. She married Johann Ferdinand NEUBAUER on October 28,1868. They had two children that lived and immigrated to Port Huron, Michigan when My Great Grandmother Therese Mathilda Auguste Neubauer , born: 10/28/1869, was about 20,and her brother Theodore Julius Carl Neubauer, born:3/3/1871 was about 18. She (Theresa )met my great grandfather Hermann Leopold Nuske , born: October 9,1863 in Rambeltsch, Danzig,Westpreussen on the ship. He was traveling alone.

F.Y.I.: Regarding the above place of origin, Rambeltsch, Danzig, Westprussen is now called Rebielcz, Poland.

Back in that time the young males were required to serve in the King's army for a period of time. My great grandfather, Herman Leopold Nuske was a horse guard at a town in Prussia which in now located in Russia, He had an aunt Henriette Busch, his mother's sister, that lived there, and it was a place called Konisberg Castle. Now that place is called Kaliningrad, Russia.
