Does anyone know of what became Alonso de Zuazo a judge from Sevilla that came with Cortez to Mexico and acted as a Licentiate in 1528 while Cortez was in Honduras? Did Zuazo have any decendents that colonized the Rio Grand Valley in New Mexico? Could Luis Suazo be related to Alonso de Zuazo?

hi,

I don't know about alonso de zuazo or weather luis suazo is related, but i know that the original zuazo last name is from the basque country in northern spain. there are at least three different spellings for the same name: zuazo, suazo ans suaso and it means "place of elm tree" or "grove of trees." all suazo last names are the same.despite their different spellings.
