My dads family is from Liepiz, germany and the Rien River.
Dads name John Goffried von Salden-B Portland,Or.
Mothers name -Evelyn von Drachenfels
her Sister name- Helen von Drachenfels
Their Mother-Klara(Clara)zschau
Klara mother- Roselyn Berger
Klara father- Johann zschau
Yes I know this is a rare name, but also all the other names are also. They came over about 1910. Thats all I know for now.

Hmmm....Dirbin, Germany. I'll have to check
out where that is located on mapquest.

I sure wish you had GGmother Rosine Berger's
birthdate or GGfather Johann Zschau's birthdate.
I assume you haven't actually tried to find them
in Germany since you don't have any dates or
names of siblings?

Just trying to figure out where you are at with it.

What you see is what I have. The Granddaughter Sent a letter to my dad in the 40's after the bombings. I will be getting a scanner so I can put my information on the web. Need all the help I can get.
The best clue is Great Grandmother Klara(clara)'s sister Anna died in dirbin, germany or leipzig or Anna's grandchikd Sifrid Hesse. Average age for having children is 21 years so Klara was born 1873 less 21= 1852 around that date frame.

Pat,

I couldn't find Dirbin but did find Derben:

Prefix: Derben

Derben
GKZ : 15 3 17 040
County : | | +---- Genthin {GNT}
RegBez : | +------- Magdeburg
Land : +--------- Sachsen-Anhalt
ZIP : 39317
Popul : 1012
Locat : 52d25m N 11d58m E

Derben is located in Sachsen-Anhalt as is Wollnau which is where I believe my Gottlieb Zschau is from.
