Hi Shirley,

I'm doing my family tree as well, and I'd love to fill in my late husband Steven Donald Zak (his Mom was Mary Zak, married to Joseph Zak, on the 6th Cons of Chatham Twp. near Dresden). Your family was also Mary's family. I am just starting and don't have much. Whatever you have would help and I will share whatever I find as well.

Warm regards
Heather Zak

Hi Shirley,

I remember you from Zruna family reunions!!! And of course Aunt Zruna and all her Zruna boys, LOL! A wonderful family with so much laughter.

Steve, my late husband, was Mary (Joseph Zak)'s second son and youngest in the family. Joe was the oldest son. He died about a year before Steve did, and about a year after Mary Sr. Steve was only 42 when he died and was Managing Editor of the Chatham Daily News at the time. We lived on 25 acres on the 6th Conc. and had bought the family homestead on the 6th as well after Mary (Zruna) Zak and Joe Zak had passed. We have four children, Kelly Joseph, Robyn Mary, Laura Lynn and Sarah Ann.
Mary Zruna's oldest child was Mary, who moved to Ohio and was married to Frank Matyas. They had four children, one of whom died in his 20s of a terrible car accident. Joe was the second oldest. He was married to Sharon Davis. They had no children. They lived on 50 acres close to the Kent Bridge Rd. just down from the homestead on the 6th Conc. Lillian was the youngest daughter, third oldest child. She married Charles Liberty, has three children, and lives still in Wabash. I'd love anything you wish to share. My email is heather_zak@hotmail.com. I'm still in touch with the Zak family.
Hugs
Heather

Hi Shirley,

Yes, I probably was thinking of the other Shirley Zruna. The older I get the more I know, but the less of it I remember, LOL. I'm going to have to try and get this all into my Family Tree Maker software so I can make some sense of it.

Nicole Zruna, who is Dave's wife, emailed me a photo of Mary as a baby with her mother Heddy and all the brothers. I'm happy to forward to you by email. My email is heather_zak @ hotmail.com. (No spaces).
