My grandmother was Magdalena Zobel. She married Ferdinand Basler prior to 1891 and they lived in Strehlen, SIlesia Prussia until the mid-1920s. I do not know her family but am hoping this strikes a chord with someone interested in the same family... Magdalena never came to America but there is no evidence her relatives didn't...

Thank you for the info. Sadly, I know nothing about the Zobel line except for Magdalena. She died in Berlin in 1940 at least at the age of 91. I have looked at what few fractured records are left from Strehlen from pre 1928 (her first appearance in the Berlin directory), but nothing matches. Part of the problem is that I don't know her parents' or siblings' names or her birthdate.

Scott, I just received 4 death certificates for children born to my ggrandparents (Ferdinand Basler and Magdalena Zobel) from Konigsbrunn, Strelno. I now know that they were connected to this town. Please contact me as I think we are connected. Betty, I just sent you an email re: the same! Finally- a chip in the brick wall!
