I am Judi Zobel Smoot granddaughter of Frederick and Gladys Zobel and great granddaughter of Ernst and Louisa Zobel. Ernst was the Opa of my father, Robert John Zobel.
Grandpa (Frederick Zobel) had a house in Pine Bush, NY that I grew up going to since I was "in utero"! I visited Uncle Adolph and his wife Aunt Ida's home up there and waved to their son "Red" many a time on his front porch as we drove by on our way to town.
I would love to communicate with you any time! I am the last of the Zobel women of my generation, my Aunt Gladys is the last of her generation of Zobel women. Unfortunately, Grandpa Zobel had 2 sons neither of which had a son so no more Zobels by name on our tree anymore; but plenty of Zobel blood! Aunt Gladys had 2 children and I had 6 so we have kept the blood line going!!
Hope you get this message. Judi Smoot

I live in Wi. now; but I was born in Jersey City, NJ then moved to CA and then here. my address is: Judi Smoot, 122 N. Rusk Ave., Sparta, WI 54656. My email is judismoot@hotmail.com. I'm on facebook too. I am so anxious to exchange info with you! On my side of the family there are only 2 of us "oldies" left, my Aunt Gladys Zobel Zitz and me Judith Zobel Smoot. Grandpa (Frederick Zobel next to youngest-Charles was the youngest) had 2 sons my dad Robert John and his brother William. Neither of them had sons so the name stopped there. But us two Zobels that are left keep the history alive. So glad to have found you. My tree is just Zobel so you can access it very easy. Judi

Oh I also forgot to tell you Grandpa's wife was Gladys F E Mercer Zobel and she named my Aunt Gladys Gladys Mercer Zobel. They had William, Robert (my dad) and Gladys. Grandpa was married before and had my Aunt Louise who I only met a few times but remember she was very nice. She adopted two boys and eventually moved to Fla. I'll look up Charles tomorrow and send what I have. Judi

Judi: I am so glad you contacted me! According to a chart I have for figuring relationships, we are third cousins. Anton Lichtenberger was my great, great grandfather. His daughter, Antonia was my great grandmother. Her son, Henry Voegelin, Sr. was my grandfather and Henry Voegelin, Jr. my father.
This is what I have calculated for you: Anton Lichtenberger your great, great grandfather, Louisa Lichtenberger Zobel your great grandmother, Frederick Zobel your grandfather, Robert John Zobel your father.
You mentioned Pine Bush in your first message. We lived there at one time and then moved to Buffalo, New york. From there to Orlando,Florida where I presently live.
On a visit to Pine Bush a few years ago, my sister and I were fortunate enough to visit the home of our great grandparents. Current owners were gracious and walked us through. Have you been back to Pine Bush at all?
