Thank you Kate for supplying the names of children for Ernestine Zobel and Charles Kelly. I was missing three of them and will add to my family tree.

Noted date of death for Adolph Zobel on the Social Security Death Index as January 1970. Does this agree with your records?

Is there any Zobel information I might have that would be helpful to you? Just let me know.

I'll look and let you know. I last visited him when I was 16 at his country home in Roosa Gap (close to Pine Bush) NY and that was in 1963. We had moved to CA in 1961 and that was our 1st visit home.

Hi Rhoda, You know when I was about 12 my dad's cousin Bill Kelly visited us in Jersey City, NJ. I had never met him before and never saw him again but I never forgot him cause I was the only one in my family with red hair and he said a lot of the Kellys had red hair too. I wonder if that was your dad? That was maybe 1958 or'59 and my dad was about 36. I am going to see my Aunt Gladys (niece of Ernastine) late summer or fall and I plan on visiting our old country home in Roosa Gap. Are there any Kellys there still? Well thanks for all your info. I am the great grandson of Ernst Zobel, grandson of Philip Zobel, and Son of Walter William Zobel (the Brooklyn and sometimes Pinebush, NY Zobels. I was most pleased to find this site and would be very interested in any information concerning the family. Does anyone have information about the circumstances under which the "NY Zobels" split off from the Von Zobels of Giebelstadt long ago in Germany, or, are we one and the same?
Judi, it looks like your great grandmother was the sister of my great grandmother, Louisa Lichtenberger... glad to meet you.

My great grandmother, Antoinette (Antonia) Lichtenberger, was also a sister of Louisa Lichtenberger's. Have you done any research on their family?
