Re: August Zobel and Philip Zobel
Unknown if related, but this is all that I have. My Grandmother, Emma (Zobel, Ruh) Jenkins was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on February 27, 1891 to Rudolph Zobel and Anna B (Detzel) Zobel. My Grandmother lived on Price Hill most of her life. Emma Zobel was married to Harry R. Ruh, who were the parents to Milford Charles Ruh (my father) and Sylvia "Isabel" (Ruh) Kindoll (my Aunt.)

If these Zobel's are from Dysart Iowa, we're related. Fred's dad was William ( given name August Wilhelm Friedrich) born 12/04/1842. My g-grandfather was Herman , william's brother, who went to dysart then moved to Minnesota.Would like more information on these Dysart Zobel's.

Carl Friedrich ). All 4 were in Dysart Iowa one time or another with William staying there. Charles & Fred went to Pipestone & Herman Zobel came to Renville County Mn. Tama County shows Fred Zobel married Anna Cathrina Stoehr on Apr. 21 1894. Willing to share information on these families.

Hi Bekah. We are definitely related. My husband's father is James Zobel and his grandfather is Dale Zobel (Melvin's brother) and his great grandfather was August Zobel. I remember meeting Uncle Melvin at family gatherings at the Zobel home in Watsonville.
August was the youngest in the family and moved from Nebraska to California to be closer to his wife, Emma's family. The rest of his family stayed in Nebraska. Phillip and his wife Mary as well as many others in the family are buried in the cemetary in Alliance, NE. My husband and I visited there this past May and have photos of the headstones as well as copies of newspaper clippings from the Genealogical Library there. I'm happy to exchange information with you. Carol
