We are related! My husband is Mark Zoback (same name as your uncle in California, huh?) and his dad is Irving, who is another brother of your grandfathers. Mark grew up in Brooklyn, New York. Many years ago, when we made a trip out west, we got together with some of your family, including your mom, who was quite young at the time.
Mark and I got married in 1979, and we have two children...
Scott who is 22, and Emily who is 18. How old are you?
You are right about the name originally being different...our understanding is that it was Zabakritsky, and some became Zaback, while others took on "Zoback"...Mark will write tonight or tomorrow and fill you in further.
