My grandfather was from yugoslavia ? where from I think Zagreb? He married in Poland and lived there with my grandmother around 1918.My father was then born.
I believe that my grandfather chaged the name to Znidericz to make it more Polish?
I would love to find out more about this part of my family
Anna Znidericz.

Is there any posibility that the surname Znidar is related to your surname. My Grandmother's name is Znidar she born in Zagreb, Croatia but her family is from Slovenia.
She went to Argentina after WW2 and lost contact with her family so I wonder what happened to them.

My grandmother's father was Augustin Znidar, he born in 1899 in Kapla, Tabor, Dolina, Slovenia. He had 4 brothers, Agneza, Karlo, Ivan, Rozica.

This is all the info that i have for now, if some of this names sounds to you plaese let me know.

Best Regards,
Diego

My grandfather Franc Znidersic was born in Slovenia in 1888 and came to Australia in 1912. His parents were Martin and Ursula Vimpolsek. He had a brother Joseph (born in Rann 1886) who married Anna Hajek in 1911 and died after falling down a mine shaft in Germany in October 1943.Grandfather also had a sister Anna and another brother Anton who was living in Jugoslavia after the war. I know there were other broters & sisters but can't track down any details. Does any of this tie in with your family?

Hi, My last name is Znidarsic. My grandparents were born in Croatia nad Slovenia though I believe the name was originally Znidersich. I didn't think anyone had the same last name as me besides my own family. Everyone thinks my name is crazy and can never pronounce it, not to mention nobody I talk to has ever heard of Slovenia. Write me and let me know who you are and where you are from.

Hi, I am doing research for my grandma on her family. My great-grandmother's maiden name was Znidarsic and she came to America from Slovenia. The only information I have about her is that she left from the city of Trieste when she came here. My grandma has a few cousins in Cleveland, Ohio from her mother's side of the family. Perhaps there is a connection? Anyway, I am trying to find out exactly where in Slovenia my grandma's family comes from. I am not sure how common the name Znidarsic is in Slovenia. If you have any information about this name that would be wonderful.

Hi!

My husband's relatives were Martin and Frank who lived at Lorraine near Cleveland/Elyria. I can't believe how many Znidarsic I have found in that area and wonder if they are all related! I've found more than one Frank. I know I found they immigrated to Cleveland from Cesta, Lower Carniola (Dolenjska) near Ilora Gora, Parish Dobrepolje.

There was a Frank that arrived in 1901 from Zagorica, Austria and was going to meet his sister in Cleveland. A Martin arrived in 1901 from Istg. And a Luke in 1901 that lived at Rakok and going to his brother "Tancy"? in Cleveland. I have pictures of them...maybe I could scan them and we could look for a family resemblence? Or maybe Grandma would recognize someone.

Why don't you just write me direct and I'll check the information I have and we can bounce it off Grandma, ok? My address is rubyslippers@kc.rr.com

Hello, my name is Ed Znidarsic. I live in Prince George County
Va.. My father was named Anton and grew up in Ohio. He was in the army and fought in WW2, Korea and Vietnam.
He met my mother Julianna while doing a tour in Germany
in the 50's. I have 2 sisters and 1 brother in this area. There
are only 2 Znidarsics in our local phonebook, my brother
Albert and myself. { We are easy to find in the phonebook,
just start on the last page and go forward.} I found your
message by typing my last name and doing a search on
the web.I don't know if we are related or not but I found it
intrigueing to find your message and answer it.WE ARE
NOT ALONE. IT'S A BIG WORLD OUT THERE.
I work as a maintenance supervisor at a chemical plant in
Chester, Va. and deal with vendors all over the country.
I was ordering material from a company in Pennsylvania,
and when I told the saleaman my last name he asked if I
was related to anyone in his area. He said it seemed like
half the population of his local area were Znidarsic's.
ZNIDARSICS RULE. Hope you get this and have a great day.

Hi
It is a small world. I understand the name is very common in Austria. We can only find one family that came to the Iron range.they came from near Lubjania. And we not able to trace the origin there. My wife has a cousin that is a Nun and went over there this Summer and was hosted by relatives. She is a Prebil and they married into the Znidarsic family. We are going to write to her and she what she knows after being over there.I have been tracing five families. Znidarsic, Prebil, Bergvall, Frolander,Buckman.2 Austrian, 2 Swedish and 1 from Germany.
Thanks, John
