Dear Jonathan:

Came across the Zneimer board a few weeks ago. I wrote to Chris Jamison and he advised I write to your father, Ivor.

My Grandmother was Yetta Zneimer, sister to Nicholas/Morris, Herman, Edward, Leopold, Fannie and Minnie.

I am new to geneology but understand your Dad is quite knowledgeable about the family. Would love to hear from you or your Dad.

Hi There
I wrote to Joseph a couple of times before he died. My Grandfather was Jacob Zneimer, who lived in London. He dropped the Z as it was making life difficult for him.
My cousin Jason has been trying to get our family tree together. Would love to hear how you have been getting on.
regards
Becky

Hi Becky:

It has been quite a while since I have been on this site and so glad to hear from you.

My Grandmother was Henrietta Zneimer Rosenstein. She had several brothers and sisters. I believe her oldest brother Morris/Nicholas, was Joseph's father.

Would love to hear from you. Email directly @

Dear Edward,
My name is Eleonora Zneimer, I was born in 1926 and I have thought, that I am a last person, who carry on the family name ZNEIMER. Our famaly originally coming from Latvia. My parents and relativs already not with us. My grandfather, my brother and my cousins died during the last war.
I have been seeking my relatives in all area of former Sowjet Union, but did`nt get sucseed and never find anybody.
After I was informed about the possibility to find someone of Zneimer`s in the Web I was really surprised, especially that I find out, there is many people in the world with the same family name. Despite of my age I was really excited.
Now I am a widow, I`ve got two sons, two grandsons and ond granddaughter and even a one grand-granddaughter.
I have been working for almost 50 yars as a teacher of literature, now I am retired. Nevertheless I am still working as a volonteer in our Jewish community, one branch of Joint.
To my greatest regret I am not speaking English, and this letter wrote one of my sons.
I would be very pleased to recieve a messege from You.
Sinserely Yours,
Eleonora Zneimer

Reading your letter, I got so excited to find out that we still have relatives from the old country.

My grandmother, Henrietta Zneimer arrived in New York City in 1898 with her Mother, Annette and sister Miria.

Henrietta had several brothers and sisters. Her parents were Shmuel Zneimer and Annette Perlman who were born in Kurland. Shmuel's parents were Elias and Leeh Zneimer.

Yes, Eleonora, we are related. You will find you have many more distant relatives living in the states.

Henrietta married Harry Rosenstein, also from Kurland. (We are trying to find info about the Rosensteins but have not been too successful.) They had four sons, Irving, Sam (My father) Joseph and Bernard. My cousins and I have been trying to locate our families and are very interested in our past

Look forward to hearing from you,

your new found cousin,

Carole

The other Zneimers were in the former Soviet Union. During the last war my grandfather David and two of his daugters lost there lifes in Shoa.
After the falure of the former Sowjet Union, in 1989 I applied in Ventspils City Department and claiming property of Zneimers in Ventspils. There is one old Building in the centre of the city. Till now the case is still undicided.

Dear Eleonora,

Thank you so much for posting on this message board. I've been very much looking forward to hearing from someone in the Zneimer family from Continental Europe.

I believe my mother (born a Zneimer), has your email address and will be contacting you directly. In the meantime, please see my website which contains all known Zneimer relations:
