Does anyone with Zmud surname recognize the placename of: Feodorki/Fedirki/Fedorivka, Podolski Ukraine? It still exists and is in Sharhorod raion/district, Vinnytska Oblast. It may be where my grandfather was born and I know Zmuds were born west of here in Ukraine/Austria. His name was Karasevich but he said we had another family name "Zmud" so either he changed his name coming to the U.S. or my family in Ukraine changed theirs.

I would be interested in any information you found on the Zmud family. My mother's maiden name is Zmud. Her father was Nick Zmud who had a sister named Mary. Their father was John or Paul Zmud (not sure) and his wife's name was Victoria.

I'd love to get this line of researc going again. William Sirnack & I are related. Christina Szmud/Zmud married Antonio Surniak. They came to US about 1910 first to Everson, Pa & then Metuchen, NJ. I believe Christina's sister, Emily married Steven Milchuk in Perth Amboy,NJ Thanks, Eileen

I am researching the Gurash family. My mom was a Gurash, sister of the family in Saskatoon. I have an article about local history of Saskatoon written by William Gurash, father of John. William states that John married "Alice" Zmud. Is Alice and Elsie the same person? Or could it be a pronunciation/spelling issue? Just curious. Any info you have on John and Alice/Elsie would be greatly appreciated. Judy

Wondering if you have any other information on your grandmother's family. She married a Gurash . His dad and my grandmother were brother and sister. Looking for information on Alice/Elsie and John Gurash. Thanks
