Dear Tina:
I was given your e-mail address and website from Bonnie Sharpe. I am trying to locate my ancestors: Michalak/Owczarzak.My great-grandfather Frank Michalak Sr. had 3 sisters and 1 brother. Mary Michalak/Kowalski, Magdelena Michalak/Lepczyk, and Hattie(Jadwiga) Michalak/ Owczarzak and Michal Michalak.Their parents were: Anthony and Margaret Ratajczak/Michalak.I have a great deal of info on my great-grandfather Frank's descendants but very little about Hattie, Mary, Magdelena and Michal.
Hattie Michalak married John Owczarzak in Poland and they had 2 children born in Poland:1.Mary Owczarzak/Lukowski and Francis Owczarzak/a.Malusi b.Kubik and was pregnant with their third child Stanley Owczarzak when she came to America to join her husband John who was already here in Michigan working for the railroad company. Hattie and John Owczarzak raised 5 more children who were born in Bay City, Michigan at 917 Michigan Avenue; Lawerence Owczarzak, Agnes(Aggie) Owczarzak/a.Pepczyk b.Rytlewski, Rosie Owczarzak/ a.Smith b.Zmich and Stella Owczarzak/Sczypansk and Joseph Owczarzak.Rosie Zmich has a daughter:Virginia Zmich/Mader who is my Mother's first cousin and taught my Mom how to read and write in Polish at: St. Hyacinth School in Bay City,Michigan and my Mom remains good friends with her to this day.Co-incidently Virginia has a daughter named Cheryl who went to St. Hyacinth School with me from the first thru the eighth grade. I am researching the Owczarzak/Michalak lineage and I am trying to find out when my great-grandfather Frank and his sister Hattie came to America, aboard what vessel, from which city, when, and which port they arrived before they migrated to Bay City,Michigan.I am also searching for family portraits of the Owczarzak family to add to my genealogy and any additional info I can add to my lineage. Any info you can help me with would be greatly appreciated and any info I can give to you I would be happy to pass along. Sincerely yours in genealogy: Robert Schwartz.
