Joseph A. Zenner, age 76,
of Erie, Pennsylvania passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at St. Vincent Health Center surrounded by his family and friends.
Joe was born on June 14, 1932 in Erie, the son of the late Albert W. and Marie Higgins Zenner. Joe attended St. Patrick’s Grade School, Cathedral Prep High School and Gannon College. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Army. He worked as a foreman for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for over 30 years and enjoyed a long and happy retirement. Joe is survived by the love of his life and wife of 47 years, Marie T. Jones Zenner;
one son Albert W. Zenner and his wife Gretchen of Rochester, New York;
two daughters, Mary E. Zenner of Erie,
and Kathleen M. Zukowski and her husband Joseph of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania
and three grandchildren, James, Thomas and Joseph Zukowski, as well as a several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Two sisters preceded him in death, Mary Zenner Miniger of Erie
and Nancy Zenner Eustler of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Friends may call
at the Francis V. Kloecker Funeral Home, Inc. 2502 Sassafras Street, Erie, Pennsylvania 16502 on Thursday, September 18, 2008 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., and may attend a service there on Friday, September 19, 2008, at 9:30 followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 147 West 24th Street, Erie, Pennsylvania at 10 a.m. Send condolences to www.kloeckerfuneralhome.com Internment will be in Trinity Cemetery, Erie, Pennsylvania.

I am researching the family of Zenner -notably David Zenner b abt 1819 in Bavaria. I don't know where exactly in Bavaria or how records were kept. Any pointers of help appreciated. David came to UK and lived in Northumberland.

My husband would like me to start on his family. His name is Michael Jon Zenner, his dad is Darwin Dean Zenner, and his grandpa is Roy Zenner. He has one great uncle still alive named Lynn Zenner. That's all I can remember right now, but I know I have more informaiton. I'll repost when I find it.

David Zenner B 1819 Bavaria

I am tracing David Zenner b1819 who appears on later census in Northumberland at Newcastle upon Tyne. The family connection is son Martin Zenner B1849 Newcastle upon Tyne. Martin's son David CarterZenner B 1878. This David Carter Zenner was my partner's grandfather. The census of 1871 etc show both David and Martin born in Bavaria. But there is a David Zenner shown born in St Andrews Newcastle. But David Zenner B 1819 was definitely born in Bavaria.Any help appreciated.

Anyone know the parents of Frank W. Zenner born 1/21/1889 or 1890 in New York? His spouse maybe Mary J. Zenner, born in Kentucky. They both died, according to death and Social Security records in Oakland, Alameda Co., California. I am trying to connect to my Buffalo, Erie Co., New York family. Any help will be appreciated.

My great-grandfather was J. Peter (Jempi) ZENNER (19 Jun 1885 - 21 Jan 1981).
His parents were Jean Peter ZENNER (8 Jan 1838 - 21 Nov 1900) and Anne-Marie BISSEN (1840 - May 1915).
Jean Peter Zenner's mother was Barbara FORCEE.

My g-grandfather J. Peter Zenner left Luxembourg to work in France and then England. He came to the U.S. in 1908, settling in Idaho where he remained until his death in 1981.

He states in his biography, "[Great?] Uncles Peter, Nickolas, and J. Peter came to Caledonia, MN, in about 1860...Uncle John Peter had learned the tinsmith trade and moved to Chicago, IL." "We were there several times and some of them here [in Idaho]." To me, that means that my great-grandfather visited with his Zenner relatives in Caledonia, MN.

Does any of this sound familiar?

John Zenner (1826-1892) came to US in 1853 with his mother and sister.

He married Catherine Geissel and they had 13 children in the St Cloud, Minnesota area.

I am trying to make some contact with relatives in Germany. He was born in Ferschweiler, and his gradfather, Nicholas appears to have been from Echternacht. Anyone out there working on the same family???

George Zenner and Caroline Remus Zenner were my great grandparents. George Zenner was born 30 Mar., 1837 in Beauforte, Luxemburg and died in 1906 in Spokane, Wash.
Caroline was born 21 May 1855 in Garden,P, Prussia . When George died se later married Fritz Kubbernuss. She was buried in Fairfield, WAsh.on 21 Apr 1935

Looking for information regarding the children of Konrad Zenner and Katharina Muller. The children
were all born in Losheim and include Margaretha (born 12-23-1812), Mathias (4-20-1815), Jakob
(12-30-1823), Nikolaus (11-16-1825), and Anna Maria (7-28-1827). There were 3 other brothers
and 2 sisters also born in Losheim and our records show they died there (the parents also were born
and died in Losheim), but we do not have any records of when the children listed above died or
where.

Konrad's parents were Philipp Zenner and Anna Margaretha Schmidt.

Frank and Reinhard Zenner

Looking for information about Frank Zenner and his son, Reinhard. Frank was born in Kansas in 1872 and was married to Selma Fettke. Their son, Reinhard, was born in 1899 in Oklahoma. Selma died in 1924 and is buried in San Antonio, Texas. According to the 1920 census, Frank was a life insurance agent and Reinhard was a fireman in San Antonio. But we don't have any information of their whereabouts after that.
