Joseph A. Zenner, age 76,
of Erie, Pennsylvania passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at St. Vincent Health Center surrounded by his family and friends.
Joe was born on June 14, 1932 in Erie, the son of the late Albert W. and Marie Higgins Zenner. Joe attended St. Patrick’s Grade School, Cathedral Prep High School and Gannon College. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Army. He worked as a foreman for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for over 30 years and enjoyed a long and happy retirement. Joe is survived by the love of his life and wife of 47 years, Marie T. Jones Zenner;
one son Albert W. Zenner and his wife Gretchen of Rochester, New York;
two daughters, Mary E. Zenner of Erie,
and Kathleen M. Zukowski and her husband Joseph of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania
and three grandchildren, James, Thomas and Joseph Zukowski, as well as a several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Two sisters preceded him in death, Mary Zenner Miniger of Erie
and Nancy Zenner Eustler of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Friends may call
at the Francis V. Kloecker Funeral Home, Inc. 2502 Sassafras Street, Erie, Pennsylvania 16502 on Thursday, September 18, 2008 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., and may attend a service there on Friday, September 19, 2008, at 9:30 followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 147 West 24th Street, Erie, Pennsylvania at 10 a.m. Send condolences to www.kloeckerfuneralhome.com Internment will be in Trinity Cemetery, Erie, Pennsylvania.
