My grandmother was a Zeman...
her mother's name was Anna and her mother's name, I believe was Emily.. Directly decended from Czech. I know there were a lot of Franks, Steve, Raymonds in the family. They immigrated to Chicago, IL from Czech. My grandmother's name is Lucille Anna Zeman Kelting.. She moved with her mother and father to New Orleans. Her father was a metal coffin maker. He made Huey P. Long's coffin. I think her father's name was Frank or Steve or Raymond? Both sides of the family were Czech. She had three brothers; Irwin, Earl, and Raymond. All the brothers fought in WWII. Irwin & Earl were in the army in New Orleans and then to Africa and Italy. Irwin didn't make it. Raymond was in the navy and he's the only one left of the family. All stayed in New Orleans.
Anna (Alta???? or Altman???? not sure about this) Zeman and her husband, I belive, Frank divorced...
He lived next door to my grandmother after she married Eugene Fredrick Kelting..... Does any of this sound familar to anyone?
Does anyone know my Zemans?
Thanks
