zea or zeeley or of course, zealy
hi: am searching for zealy....really not familiar with Zea, however.

Hi! I am beginning research on the zealy name also. I am only familiar with the Zealy's in the Georgia area and would like to learn as much as I can. If you have any information, or I can give you any, it would be great!

I understand the Zea name is of Spanish origin. There is a street in Madrid called Cea Bermudez. The spelling is different but the sound is the same. Please let me have your opinion

Mr. Daniel Zea
you are in the right track Mr. Zea, and the variation is more surely explained by errors in the jotting down of birth certificates or others documents. Although mine is ZEAS, in my quest I have stumbled with variations such as thea or theas, which, if an english speaking were the one who had to write Zeas, certainly the sound zzz will be reflected with characteres as th; not to mention the propensity of Spaniards or perhaps better, Iberians, to sound the "c","z" sounds almost with same intensity. I have haerd that its origins is Jewish.
There is also an little island in the Aegean Sea with the name ZEA.
