I am a grandchild of Chester Anthony Zdanczewicz born on January 11, 1926 to Stanislaus Zdanczewicz, who came here from Lithuiana. Stanislaus married Marijanka Prawzyk, who came here from Poland. They were from bordering villages, but didn't meet until they got to the U.S. My grandfather Chester Anthony Zdanczewicz is one of eight children. The names of his brothers and sisters that I have are: Stanley,Marcella,Veronica,Vincent,Yanak-John,Bolesaus-Bill(Bill fought in WWII)and there is one name I am missing. Chester Anthony is the youngest of all eight children and the only one that is still alive. He married Betty Ann Heider, and together they had ten children. One of their ten children is my father, Chester David Zdanczewicz, born June 12,1957 and died December 30,1994. This is the extent of my family history. Any information that you may have would be helpful.Maybe you are a grandchild of one of the others,or maybe you knew one of them very well and have some useful info.

I have some very spare information to attach to this post. I am the great granddaughter of Genevieve Zdanciewicy (b. 1901). She had two brothers: Stanislaus (b. 1903) and Sylvester (b. 1900, Sylvester eventually shortened his surname to Zdana). They were all born in Pennsylvania. Stanislaus and Genevieve moved to Jackson, Michigan.

I do not know what their father's name was. I do know that he was from Poland (Russia) but there was some Lithuanian connection in the Zdanciewicy family. Both he and his brother were adopted children of the Zdanciewicy family. The Zdanciewicys were cossacks with large landholdings who lived near or in Warsaw. My family still gets occasional letters from Poland regarding legal rights to the ancestral holdings. My grandmother remembers seeing one of her uncles do the cossack dance.

The two adopted brothers emigrated to America. On the boat, my ancestor married one of his Zdanciewicy cousins (not blood related, as he was adopted). So his descendents are Zdanciewicys - but through the maternal line.
