Jan Zdankiewicz was born 1871 in Russian Poland. He married Anna Borodziak around 1900. They immigrated in 1902 from Skieblewo, Powiat Augustowski to Plymouth, Penn. (Skieblewo is about 60 miles north of Bialystok.) A few years later, they began farming in Rusk County, Wisc. They died in Chicago.

After many name changes, the family finally settled on Zonavetch. They had 4 sons who survived, Wincenty (William), John Paul, Anthony, and Peter.

Looking for more information on Skieblewo area records and churches. Also tips on birth records for Philadelphia, Wilkes Barre, and Plymouth area.

I'm not sure if this information is anything you are looking for at all, but my great grandfather is also Jan Zsankiewicz from Poland, married to Francisca Euezyloska. Birthed Estefania Zdankiewicz in 1901 who later emigrated to Buenos Aires, Argentina. Could this be part of the same family? I have little more information than this.

My Jan also had also had a child in 1901, so these are not the same person. It is possible that both Jans are cousins as it might be a family name. However, my Jan came from a town called Skieblewo and most of the records were destroyed in this region during the war. So we will probably never know.
