Hi, What do you need, I am not sure about a Joseph, but it sounds familier. I just checked with a cousin's line and I found a Joseph, b. 9 Oct 1895 Cleveland, OH. Is this near the right age??? If so I can give you his line back to 1620.
The line goes back to Alsace France.

I guess I am at a dead end as I am not finding much :( I have been noticing names and places they were leaving and arriving from.

Joseph Von Yuncker born in England according to this latest census record, but from my family bible it says he was born in Germany and religion is Catholic

His wife has a death date of 1877, so I am wondering if they were both killed at the same time when he returned with his cattle.

son: James George King was adopted to Sullivian King.

Brandie, I am sorry but I cannot find a JOSEPH VON YUNCKER, in my file of names of descendents from Lady Catherine and Monsieur Yuncker, in 1620. My list numbers 239 names, and none have a VON in their names. I found only 4 with name of Josephs, but none died in or near 1877.
I suspect that if your Joseph was born in England, it was
probably while they were moving away from Germany. Most Yunckers in my line and that of my 3 cousins were Catholic.
I am an exception because my great grandfather had an argument with the Priest, and his first born child, a boy, was not raised in that faith. So my family is not Catholic.
There is a book called Alsacians to America or United States, that list the people from Alsace that left Germany-France for USA. I no longer have the book, but it helped me find my family and the town where they came from. We then went to the LDS for town records, and found them. Then I found the ship they arrived on in 1857. The Yunckers seemed to come from Alsace and Lorraine in France of German stock. Sorry I was not more help. Write if you have any more questions.
