My maiden name is Yunck. Had an uncle (John Adam) from MI. My gr grandfather (b1843) came over from (sp) Bin on the Rhine, Germany as a child. I know about his children but do not know if he had siblings that either immigrated from Germ or were born here.

My g-grandfather was from Kastle (?) spelling in Germany. He came here early 1900's and was a virtuoso who taught music in Detroit. He played the organ for the Catholic church there for many years, until his death. I do not know if he had siblings, but most likely did. I know his father was commissionedin the Austrian army. His wife's name is unknown to me. My family heritage is all but lost now, and I would really like to piece it together. thanks for the reply. If you learn anymore, please send me an email to Chloe@linkline.com. Regards, Claudia

YES, YES, YES, I would love to have any and all information you may have. Thank you so much for answering.

I do have photos of Grandpa and Hermann from the Tribune announcing that they will be playing at the Christmas mass at St. Aloysis (?) Church but no date. I look, forward to hearing from you.

Claudia,
I have about 30 pages of brochures advertising the Detroit Philharmonic Quartet which I found at the Detroit library. I will have to photo copy them and mail them to you via post office. If you send me your address I can get them out next week. I was just looking at some of the pages and on one page it says "Mrs. Bertha Yunck-Soprano" in a concert on tuesday October 5th but no year given. Is this Williams wife? I also have a few things on file in computer but have to go digging for it. Can I send this to you at your home e-mail? I have only photos of Walter..........none of the quartet which is rather ironic since Walter came from the Voigtlander family of camera and lens producers. If you wouldn't mind sharing one of your photos of the quartet I would be so grateful. I will get everything out tomorrow.
Regards,
Debi Z feel free to e-mail me at home

ps Your G. Grandfather William had to have come to the U.S. before 1887 since he is listed with the quartet in 1887.
