I recently went to Losie, Poland to research the Juszczak (Youshak)family line. The guide took us to Losie to meet with a wonderful old man with the surname Jewusiak. Although he was not related to us (big difference in Jewusiak and Youshak names over there), his story is worth telling.
His father immigrated to America in the early 1900's to get away from WWI. Later his dad returned to Poland with him, but left his 3 brothers in America because they didn't want to go back. This brother was too young to stay with his siblings. He thought we were his family from America finally coming to visit him after all these years, that's why he agreed to meet with us.
We sat outside in the back of his house as he pulled out his precious shoebox full of letters sent from his brothers to the family. He also showed us pictures of his brothers in uniform as they served in US WWII forces. He and his family are wonderful people and I only wished I was related to them. While we did have a language barrier, I was able to get that his one brother who lived here was John Yewusiak, 1123 Main St., Follarsbee, WV. I believe he was Gregory Jewusiak born 1925 - father Julian Jewusiak mother Alexandria. He is the oldest Jewusiak in Losie, that's how we found him. While he was not able to help us connect to our family, perhaps I can help him connect to his.
