Eli Yovich, age 86, born in Union City, Pennsylvania, son of Rade Yovich and Evica Mraovich.
Eli Yovich, age 86, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at his residence. He was born August 18, 1926 in Union City, Pennsylvania, son of the late Rade Yovich and Evica Mraovich. On March 5, 1994 he married Betty J. Yovich who survives. Eli was a sales representative for the H.D. Hudson Mfg. Company for 30 years. He was a member of the Wilmington United Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge, American Legion Post #49, the Elks #797, and the Wilmington Lions Club. Eli was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army where he was a member of the Honor Guard for the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Washington D.C. He had served five terms on the Wilmington City Council; twenty three years on the Board of directors of #797 Gilf Club; had been on the Board of Directors since 1994 of the Clinton County Community Action; the Wilmington Lions Club Board of Directors; the Southwest Ohio Council on Aging Board of Directors for six years. Eli greatly enjoyed playing golf with his sons and friends. In addition to his wife other survivors include two sons, James E. (Suzann) Yovich, of Sugar Grove, Pa., Steven G. (Heidi) Yovich, of Mill Village , Pa., and one daughter, Merita (Richard) Hatch, of Erie, Pa. Also surviving are seven step-children, and grandchildren, Michael (Stacey) Yovich, of Cambridge Springs, Molly, Annie, and Carley Yovich of Mill Village, Zachary (Christine) Hatch, Caleb (Amy) and Mallory Hatch of Erie. Also surviving is a brother, Dan Yovich, of Union City, and several nieces & nephews, and his former wife, Glenna McGarvey of Erie. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Mill Village UM Church in Mill Village, Pa. The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, is serving the family. in the Erie Times-News on April 5, 2013.
