Hi Tanya,

Your gr-gr-grandparents were Henry (Harry) and Jesse Youden. Jesse's maiden name was Bartlett, and she was born in Noddy Bay on the Northern Peninsula of Newfoundland.

Your gr-grandfather Jim had 7 brothers and 1 sister. They were: Philip, Absolam, George, Thomas, Samuel, Joseph, John, and Josephine. Please email me at straynewfie@yahoo.ca if you want to know more.

Hi, my name is Crystal Marie Youden and I am also from the small community of Georgetown, which is located just outside Brigus. It is amazing, I too was just searching for information on my great-grandfather, whose name was also James Youden, and he too was from the old abandon fishing community Bull Cove. I wonder could it be possible that we are talking about the same James Youden? If we are and he is the great-grandfather of the two of us, then we must be related. Did you say that you were from Georgetown? Thats strange I am too but I never heard of you before. Well I don't live there now, I live in Clarenville which is about an hour and a half away. Do you know any other Youdens? My grandparents still live in Georgetown today! If you are talking about the same James Youden as I am did you know that he lived to be over a hundred? Well I better go, but if you think we are searshing on information for the same person you can e-mail me back at my mom's address, it is the one that I am using to send this. Then I can write you back, because I have more information about my great-grandfather.

Hi Crystal! Yes I know who you are! Your pop and my pop are brothers! I am Joe's grand - daughter. I have had this ad here since last year looking for information, but i only got 2 replys back and that was with info I already had. This ad wouldn't give me your address so I hope you got my email. Feel free to email me anytime at tyouden23@hotmail.com . You probably don't remember me because you were young when I moved to St. John's. How are you doing? It's been so long since I saw you that I don't even know if you might be finished high school or not! I'm going to let you go now. Tell your mom I said Hi. I hope to hear from you soon!

Hi Crystal,

Your great grandfather and mine were brothers. I come from James' brother Philip. I'd love to know about your line of the family.

I'm also trying to find out about James' first wife, before he married Bertha. Do you know who she might be?

Dear Tanya,

I am a Youden by marriage and have a lot of information about the family. My husband is from the British branch of the family. We believe that this branch is related to the Canadian Youdens, but have not found the link.

I will look of your great-grandfather in my genealogical files and sned you some info. In return I would apprecaite getting any infromation that you might have.

Are your British Youden's connected to John Youden who married Mary Jane Hanson in 1872 in Glasgow?
His father was William Alfred Youden and I think they were from Dover. John was my Great-Grandfather and was a Merchantile Clerk at the time of his marriage. His wife's father was a Master Mariner.

I am from Dover Kent England.
John Youden was possibly a family name as my Grandfather on my Fathers side was a John Youden.
I was told by an aunt that the family arrived in the UK from Holland during the reformation.
Hope that helps
