Thomas Youd of Oscroft, Cheshire, and his wife Elizabeth Pickles joined the Church of Latter Day Saints in England, and with their children they sailed for the US in 1851 with over 200 other Saints. They made for Salt Lake City and finally settled in Spanish Fork, where they founded a dynasty. What I should like to know from members of that dynasty is, how did they pronounce their name? Was it to rhyme with "loud" or "feud", and do you use the same pronunciation today?
