hello All,

Does anyone know of a John Yore who married Elizabeth Liesk in South Shields, Durham, UK about 1870/80. They had a daughter Elizabeth Yore who married a John Renwick. John Yore was either a Coal Miner or Mariner or both.

I appreciate your assistance.

re your query, I once spoke to a lady named Yore from Malton N Yorks - I think she is in the telephone directory
and she may be able to help you.
Yore is mainly found in Meath Ireland (MYSELF) and I have knowledge of Yores from Ireland emigrating to N. England.
It is either an old Irish name or decended from the Norman names Eure or d'Evers

I am interested in finding anything possible about Mary Yore, b. 1849 in Ireland.

She married Patrick Myron of Canada in 1860, they moved to Lowell, Massachusetts, then back to Canada, when Patrick died, she returned to the Lowell, MA area.

I would love to learn what part of Ireland and exact birth date for Mary Yore as well as her parents and any other ancestry.

Thanks for any information!

I have been looking for info on my Great Great Grandfather, Michael Yore from Meath. He came to Australia in 1856, I want to know about the family he left behind. He migrated with a friend Walter Plunkett, vessel was 'Fiery Star'.

I know this is an older posting but I think it is possible that Mary is the younger sister of Ellen, who was my gg grandmother. From what I understand Ellen came to the U.S. in 1849 with her 10 siblings. She worked at the textile mills in Lowell. I am told that Ellen's youngest sister was married to a Myron and there is mention of Nellie and Theresa Myron Kelly.

Yes, this is the same family. I don't have access right now to my genealogy files, but am excited to see this post.

Okay, I will try to attach three photos I just located. The first is Theresa Myron Kelly with (I believe her nephew) David Clark. The second photo is of Nellie Myron. The third photo is of Mary Myron Clark, Nellie's sister and I believe (without consulting my records) Theresa's as well.

I have more Myron photos, but don't want to overdo it here.

Please stay in touch with me and also let me know if you have more information about Mary Yore, particularly about her parents. Thanks!

That's great!

Their parents are John Yore and Ann Barrett (born 1819)

I also found - Bridgett born in 1835, Ann born in 1839, John born in 1841. I also see Patrick and Mary in the census. All from Meath and living in the Lowell/Dracut area. My greatgrandmother (Katerine Agnes McGuire - Ellen's daughter) lived in Dracut and worked at the textile mills. My cousin said Ellen came over in 1849 but I haven't found that documentation yet.

Thanks!
Ginger

Oh thank you! Here's another Myron photo. Bill Myron, brother to Theresa, Mary and Nellie (my recollection).

I think somewhere I have a postcard with a sketch of the "homeland". I'll have to find that and scan it too.
