I have two Yokels I'm trying to track down. The first is Suzhanna Yokel born around 1889 in Allentown, PA. She married Charles John Uyak, Sr. The other is Dorthea Yokel. She married Charles father, name unknown but probably spelled "Ujac." I have no dates or other information on them. Any information would be appreciated!

We are looking for the same people.
I am the granddaughter of Herman Uyak (Charles John Uyak's father and Suzhanna's mother). They are mine great grand partents.
I check the records and Suzhanna Yokel was NOT born in Allentown, PA She came in from Germany.
I would like to fill you in on my information.
Please e-mail me at ajm201@juno.com

And me too. I'm the granddaughter of Charles John Uyak Jr. Also, I found a document that names a Johann Uyak that came from Slovenia around 1901. Does this ring a bell? I talked to Jeff Uyak and he said that Johann might be the John who changed his name upon arrival. I agree, from what I've heard. Email me about what you know.
Love, Kelly Uyak
P.S. I think I know who you both are, but I'm not entirely sure:)

Hello,

I can help on your research for Jokel and Ujak families. My name is Remo Facchinetti and I'm living in Belgium. I have almost complete family trees for your Jokel(Yokel)family. Please write me; I tell you all about this family before immigation and you tell me the rest.

My family includes Susan Yokel (born April 1876 in Austria), who married Charles John Uyak (born Nov 1864 in Austria -- reportedly at a place I can't find called Maria von Dressel). I found a ship's passenger list identifying an 18 year old Karl Ujak of Austria who arrived in Baltimore, Maryland (USA) on 23 Nov 1883. Charles John Uyak's son once said the name was originally spelled Ujak. Seems like it might be the same person. Can help me learn more?

I have their complete family history. Please write me on this address: remofacchinetti@hotmail.com
It would be very special to me, doing this together with you.

Thank you Remo, but I prefer to communicate here. Will you please tell me what you know of the Ujak family and the place they are said to come from? It is in present day Slovakia?

I would be surprised if the Yokel/Jokel family comes from the same place, as they did not come to the United States together. According to records, Karl Ujak came in 1883 and Susan Yokel in 1893. She is about 10 years younger than Karl.

Many thanks!
Marsha

Dear Marsha,

I told you that I can help you ( it's for free) and I'm sure of it. Write me on my address. I'm not related to the Ujak or the Jokel families, so I prefer to talk about this in private.

Regards
Remo
