Nathan,

Denver's (1917) parents were Allen Daniel (1884-1919) and Maggie (Hughes) Yoke (1887-?).
http://www.rootsweb.com/~hcpd/norman/YOAK.htm
Allen Daniel's family tree. BTW, we are not listed as Danny or Mike's children.

Margaret Jane "Maggie" Hughes Yoke's parents where Daniel (1853-?) and Adeline Hughes (1853-?). I can trace Daniel Hughes family back to 1775. But I am waiting on some records for Adeline, there is not anything on the web about Adeline.

I can email with the information when I get it, just send me a way to contact you at ayoke@tampabay.rr.com

The Dan Norman site is not 100% correct.

Please, as always, verify the data. For instance, Dora Louise Yoke Ross has been deceased for 30 years. She is not listed as such here. (my Great-Grandmother, and cousin to Denver).

Her children's names are spelled wrong.

Aunt Minnie's married name is wrong. It is Cumpston not Cumpson. (Minnie Gay Yoke).

There are additionals. If you want some specifics, I also have Mary Yoke Gipe's book on the family, plus information my mother gave me.

No offence or anything, but my data is correct. I did not use that site to get it, but it is a great break down. I have part Mary Gipe's book that my mother was able to get from Virginia Bright Yoke (Denver's wife). I truthfully could careless about the Yoke tree after Denver's parents, I am after some specific thing in this research. And I bet my cousin Nathan is after the same thing, I remember hearing when I was little that Denver had some Native American somewhere in his line and I am out to find it. From Mary's book, I got his father's name. And from there started looking in the correct places to find the other data I now have. The state of WV is a great place to get copies of old documents. And there are old census reports out on the web and on microfilm if you know where to look. I saw my cousin out looking and I thought that I would share since I have not talked to any of my Yoke relatives since the early 90s. BTW, Don Norman's site only covers specific counties in WV, but a phone call the the state records office and put you in touch with some great people. From what I have of Mary's book, from Issac to Allen Daniel is correct to what Don Norman has on his site.
