Yohe/Yohey Connection?

Yohe/Yohey Connection?

Is there a connection between the Yohey and Yohe surnames?

I am starting a Yohe Y-DNA Project on worldfamilies.net. Y-DNA is passed from father to son intact except for occasional minor mutations, and as such is a reasonable indicator of whether two males may have a common male ancestor.

If you are a Yohey/Yohe surnamed male interested in participating, please contact me. In a few weeks, this project should show up on Worldfamilies.net and you can then check it out there as well.

At least one Yohey line appears to descend from Michael Yohe (1746-1832) through Peter Yohe (1774-1850), Isaac Yohe (1816-1888) and Daniel Peter Yohey (1852-1926). Peter born in Washington County PA; moved to Baughman Twp Wayne County OH; Isaac baptized in Washington County PA and died in Wayne County OH; Daniel Peter born there and died in Summit County. I have supporting documents through birth of Isaac and residence of Peter's family in Wayne County. Michael born in Gammelsbach, Germany.

I find another Yohey line apparently originating in New York, but have no information on that line.
