Surnames: Yohe, Levan, Siegfried
Hello everyone in Yohe land,

Looking for any help I can get concerning the subject George Yohe. Supposedly this George Yohe married Sarah Levan, born abour 1762 the Daughter of Daniel Levan and Susanna Siegfried in Maxatawny Township, Berks Co., PA.

George is almost certainly the son of the immigrant John George, probably born 1714 in Gammelsbach, Germany. Would be glad to share what information I have.

New information casts doubt on what I said before. Sarah Levan's husband could be the son of the immigrant George, but it doesn't seem likely. Immigrant George's son George probably married Elizabeth Shoemaker (thought by many to have been the wife of the immigrant George), and if so, would have been married to her about the time Sarah Levan was probably married. Sarah's husband could also be the son of immigrant Adam, innkeeper in Easton; or of another immigrant Yohe -- there are three whose tracks I haven't found. Did find a Philadelphia burial record for a Susanna Yohe (1875-1786), daughter of a George Yohe and wife Sarah, but no documentary evidence that Sarah was Sarah Levan Yohe. Mike

This George is possibly the Revolutionary War George (1755-1839), son of the immigrant Adam (1722-1785). No proof of this, but there is some weak circumstantial evidence. Contact me via Ancestry.com if interested in more information. Mike
